Choosing the correct pillow size
In general, for pillow covers 18" x 18" or larger, you shoudl choose a pillow insert that is 2" larger than the pillow cover. For an 18" x 18" pillow a 20" x 2-" pillow insert will give that, full and overstuffed look. At Pillow Frenzy, we follow this rule for all our pre-made pillows.
For a less full look choose an insert that is only 1" larger. Using a 19" x 19" insert in a 18" x 18" cover will provide a floppy pillow. Sometimes, the softer floppy pillow is desirable, especially where the pillow may be used with small children.
For pillow covers under 18" x 18", choose and insert that is the same size or 1" larger. A 1" larger insert will give that over stuffed appearance and firmness while a exact fit will create a floppier pillow.
